CHARACTER

NAME: Thor Odinson
SERIES: Thor (Movie-verse)
HISTORY: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thor_(film)#Plot
TIMELINE: Post film
PERSONALITY:

Thor is like a giant golden retriever. He isn’t the smartest, or always the most kind, but there is an earnest within him that can’t be denied. Despite his flaws, or perhaps because of them, Thor is a good man.

Well, a good-alien-god-type.

Raised from a child to believe he was destined to be the King of Asgard (and the protector of seven realms), Thor never felt the need to doubt himself or his actions. Over time he became arrogant, brash, headstrong, and egoistical. With complete faith in the path set before him, he is the natural alpha dog in his group of friends, enjoying adventures and trouble with them alike—and never once facing any true consequences.

So when his coronation ceremony doesn’t go well, we see how much of a petulant child Thor can be—he storms around, throwing tables over, and basically acting like a spoiled brat who had his ice cream cone taken away.
His brother, Loki, is the dark to his lightness, but despite this (and despite how others treat Loki), it’s clear that Thor considers his brother his equal and confidant. One to help him in his ruling of the throne. He takes Loki for granted, and doesn’t tell him how much he appreciates and loves him, helping set up the path of Loki’s fall.

Due to Thor’s arrogance and temper, he brings Asgard on the brink of war; his father thrusts him out of Asgard to Midgard (Earth), stripping him of all his god-like abilities, and sets him on his path of discovery and growth.

Despite maintaining his arrogance at the start of his time on Midgard, it’s clear that he is a kind, good man.
He attempts to help Jane and her friends, and when introduced to food—the scene could not be described as
anything but a kid at Christmas—

--sure, Thor doesn’t have the best table manners, but the utter joy he gets in tasting new foods is infectious. He is ready to smile and charm everyone, despite having just been dealt a heavy blow by his father.

Things change, however, when he goes to retrieve Mjolnir, only to find that he can’t lift it—he isn’t worthy. Compound this with Loki lying, saying that father died due to his arrogance…and a transformation occurs within Thor. Yes, it is quick, but Thor hits bottom so quickly, and feels things so intensely, that it makes utter sense. Thor realizes he may never be able to leave Midgard, and sets to start doing all he can to right himself, and make a life for himself. He clearly cares for Jane, but is a gentleman—never making advances. He simply treats her with kindness, and eagerly provides her information on his life and his world. Even when he has to leave her—he gives her a simple kiss on the hand—she’s the one who has to kiss him on the lips (which he responds to).

Thor is also willing to sacrifice himself to protect those he loves—and takes blame on his shoulders, even when he shouldn’t. When Loki finally goes mad, and attempts to kill Thor, Thor apologizes to Loki. He has no idea that it’s Odin that set Loki off, but Thor recognizes that he wasn’t the best brother he could be, and feels guilt towards his brother. He willingly lets Loki kill him, to protect his friends—new and old alike.

Even when fighting Loki, who is very much attempting to kill Thor—he tries to avoid hurting him. This is a man that loves his brother so much, that he’s willing to sacrifice himself and his body. He sacrifices everything to stop Loki from destroying Jotuhnheim. Possibly his life, and any way to get back to Jane.

By the end, Thor has grown, and he is happy about that—but the price was high. He has lost his dearest friend and brother in Loki, and he has lost his love in Jane. He knows that he is not yet worthy of the throne, but will be in time; still, the realization is bittersweet.

ABILITIES/POWERS: Thor's strength, endurance and resistance to injury are greater than the vast majority of his superhuman race. He is extremely long-lived (though not completely immune to aging), immune to conventional disease and highly resistant to injury. His flesh and bones are several times denser than a human's.

Thor wields Mjolnir, a hammer . Mjolnir is virtually unbreakable, and allows Thor to command the powers of the storm, causing rain, thunder and lightning. Thor can channel the storm’s fury into devastating blasts of energy . He can also channel his godly energies through Mjolnir into blasts so powerful that they can slay even immortals. Mjolnir can absorb other energies into itself, which Thor can then release.

Mjolnir obeys Thor’s commands as though it were alive, and if Thor’s will is strong enough, the hammer can pass through nearly any barrier to reach him should he so desire. Using this command over Mjolnir’s flight path, Thor is able to use the hammer to fly, achieving escape velocities.

Enchantments surrounding Mjolnir prevent it from being wielded by anyone except those who have been found worthy. To anyone else, Mjolnir cannot be lifted from the ground nor wrested from Thor’s grip.

TIME OF ARRIVAL:
Day!

MASK DESIGN: Okay. So I would like him to use this:

Please let me know which I can/should use <3

PLACE OF SOLACE:
http://0.tqn.com/d/movies/1/0/m/L/X/thor-photo-scene2.jpg The town that Thor lives in when he’s human. There is also a place called “smith motors” that I can’t currently find good pics of (I’ll scan some from the artbook when I can) where he lives with Jane and the others.

(I figured Asgard would be a *tad* too large*) HOWEVER if I can have Asgard’s castle, let me know?

FIRST PERSON: http://sixwordstories.livejournal.com/58824985.html

THIRD PERSON:

Thor wasn’t going to stop searching. Of that, he was quite sure. Heimdall knew of no other way but the biofrost to travel between the worlds, but when one path closed, another had to open, somewhere. Loki had traveled to Jotunheim somehow, without using the rainbow bridge; Thor simply did not know the way. If he had been a great sorcerer like his brother, or had the intelligence, perhaps it would have been an easier path. But it wasn’t, and it would not be. Thor knew it was the way it had to be. Nothing good was ever earned through the simple path—he knew that now, after everything that had happened in the past few months.

Thor missed Jane, more than he could say—he knew that the woman, the wonderful Midgardian that she was, would not stop until she found her own path. Perhaps with both of them working, even without knowing what the other was doing…perhaps they would find a way back on their own. It was possible; he had faith, great faith in her, and her friends. They understood the mixing of magic and science, in a way that even Thor could not comprehend. He had been so impressed in the short period of time he had known them—at their ingenuity, their tenacity. The Asgards had ignored the Midgardians for too long—to forget them as they had been forgotten.

Well, Thor would change that, he hoped. He had promised the man Coulson that he would be allied to S.H.I.E.L.D, that he would protect their realm as much as he would protect the others. Once he found a way to return, he would ensure that this pledge became truth.

These thoughts, however, drifted away as Thor walked to the edge of the bridge, staring out into the empty expanse of stars and sky. He had lost Jane…and Loki. Poor, misunderstood, mad Loki. Thinking too much on that subject gave Thor a headache, but still he did it, trying to search where he had gone wrong, where he had failed his brother, to make him think that he wasn’t an equal. To make him think that destruction and violence was the only path.

Staring out into the expanse, he let out a breath, speaking softly. “Wherever you are, I am sorry.”
